Trapper's Smokehouse

The exterior is nicely done and we had high expectations. The decor looks like a really decent barbecue place but the food is pretty bland. Not a smoked flavor at all, more like oven cooked with a little sauce. The service was okay but not really friendly. The French fries were good.

This was a pretty decent place, nice décor and setup. I got the Trapper’s signature smoked chicken for $23 which is a ½ BBQ chicken with fries and a roll. The chicken was good, would have liked just a little bit more fries for the price. I also got a side salad for $8. The food was good. Seating was decent as well.

chicken was slightly dry, but great flavor. ribs are okay, could've been cooked longer. good rolls and french fries. amazing brisket, make sure to try that. baked beans were very flavorful.

We have the dining plan and it includes this meal. This meal alone almost reaches what the plan cost. Dining plan is worth the money. The food was delicious. Hit or miss on weather the ribs were dry or not. Some ate fatty while some are all meat. Brisket was good and not dry. Chicken was dry but good flavor. My son and I agree the fries are amazing while hot. Bread was great. It has a different flavor but do good. Mac and cheese had a different flavor and might not be liked by picky eaters that can tell taste difference but I liked it. Pineapple was perfect. Juicy and sweet. Makes a perfect substitute for desert and helps with digestion. We could have gotten away with only 2 meals for the 3 of us. We weren't able to finish all the food we got. Not sure if I want to ride anything for a bit. Water is free everywhere.

I got the sampler plate with chicken, ribs and brisket. The brisket had a great flavor. Would have liked thicker pieces but even the thin pieces were very tender. The chicken also had good flavor but the ribs were a disappointment. The ribs had very little flavor and were not tender. The waffle fries were also pretty good. I didn’t grab a dessert but they looked really good as I walked past them in the line.

Trapper's Smokehouse is a solid go-to if you're looking for a hearty meal in the park. The platter is definitely the best value, especially if you get the all-day dining pass it’s about half the cost of the pass and then you can use it at other spots too. It’s something we always do when we’re planning to stay all day. The food is satisfying and makes it easy to refuel without leaving the park.
